CHECK IT OUT was written for my 6 grade beginning band to use as an instructional aide to assist my students as they were learning the first notes as well as eighth note rhythms in their band method book. The title was chosen because the words Check it out corresponded with the rhythm of the first three notes of the melody. It is my hope that CHECK IT OUT will provide students with a song that they will enjoy learning to play and provide other music educators with a teaching tool that can be used to motivate and encourage their students.
