Andrew Balent lends his arranging skills in this new patriotic salute for young band. A bright opening fanfare quickly moves into a lyrical treatment of America, the Beautiful. After a brief restatement of the opening material, the arrangement moves into Battle Hymn of the Republic. Fanfares in the brass punctuate the melody as the piece moves to a stirring conclusion. Appropriate for middle school and smaller high school groups. Second clarinets usually stay below the break. Parts are written with more independence, and instrumentation increases slightly. There is still adequate doubling in the lower voices. Grades 2 - 2.5.
