The up-tempo meter alternates between 4. 4 and 6. 8, and the handbell part includes the use of mallets, ring touch, martellato, and martellato lift. A restful, lyrical middle section follows, using a new melody that begins softly then blossoms into a rich and glorious sound. The piece concludes in its original up-beat, rhythmic style.
