These pieces have been inspired by the poems of Spanish poet and playwright Frederico Garcia Lorca. The vigour of the rhythms combined with colourful harmonies conjures up the essence characteristic of Spanish life as portrayed within Lorca's poems. My thanks are extended to Tony Kline for his kind permission to include his translations of Lorca's original poems into this edition.
